Out beyond ideas of wrong-doing and right-doing there is a field
I’ll meet you there
When the soul lies down in that grass
The world is too full to talk about.
Ideas, language, even the phrase,
Each other
Doesn’t make any sense. ~Rumi
In her recent talk in California, Marianne Williamson, reminded her audience that it is time for a new field. We can create that new field together.
I thought about this quote while sitting in the Pyramid of Giza (also called the Pyramid of Khufu) last week. I had the unique opportunity to have a private tour of the pyramid and to spend time in meditation. It is the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, built around 2560 BC and the only one to remain largely intact. As I sat and listened to my own breath in the king’s chamber, I heard the words:
There is another way, always.
There is always another way.
Yes, beyond all of our ideas of wrong and right doing, there is a field awaiting us to create together.
Peace,
Mary Anne
